Campers will learn basic hand-building and glazing techniques through a variety of projects (pinch pot creatures, patterned coil pots, and more). Wear old clothing and rubber-soled shoes. Visual arts camps are limited to 14 students. This half day program runs Monday – Friday. Participants are asked to bring a snack. No experience or expertise is necessary, just enthusiasm for the process of making art and a willingness to experiment with new ways of expressing creativity.
Cost: Our half-day camps are $180 for most of our visual arts camps, and $200 for clay camp due to the additional materials, and $200 for music camp due to additional instructors and instruments.
FOLK Music Camp
June 8-12 10am - 2pm

Class Description:
During camp we will offer group lessons on a variety of stringed instruments, along with group activities. Our students will learn old time tunes in their group lessons, and then come together to learn to jam together.
Our instructors will also demonstrate a variety of instruments, to expose the students to the possibilities within the old-time and bluegrass world. Through this camp, participants will develop a stronger sense of community and Appalachian culture and history.
No experience needed, and we have instruments students can use throughout the week!
Creative Cryptids

Explore art of the fantastic! Students will learn about current and past fantasy artists and craft their own mythical creations utilizing a variety of techniques, including painting, drawing, collage, and found item sculpture.
Portraits with a Twist

Class Description:
Students will delve into the faces of art. Each project will introduce master artists such as Picasso and Matisse using their work as a starting place for creating various types of portraits. We will draw, collage, paint and sculpt our way through history.
