Okay, you babes of jazz, let's pick up the pace, and support the arts! Grab your flapper dress or your gangster hat... and maybe a getaway car!
MAC Bootleggers Ball, a lively evening on August 23 in our historic building will feature the Swingside Jazz Band, swing dancing, hands-on arts activities, outdoor garden party (weather permitting), games, silent auction, raffles, a selfie station, bites, and cash bars with wine, prohibition era cocktails, and beer. We can neither confirm now deny whether there will be a speakeasy in the basement of our building.
Six-piece Swingside Jazz Band will not only play their instruments, they’ll also play your heartstrings. These cats are so smooth, they could talk their way out of a bank robbery. They will have you dancing before you can say “prohibition.”
Proceeds from this, our major fundraising event of the year, will allow us to continue our mission of inspiring local creativity through art classes, exhibits, and live shows in the heart of Morgantown.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Regular tickets are $70, and include light snacks, and entertainment. VIP tickets are $100, and the upgrade includes a beer/wine drink ticket, your name on the program and inclusion in social media "thank-you" post.
Sponsorships range from The Big Cheese at the $2000 level to Dappers and Flappers at the $250 level.
The Brown Bag Concert Series is a new program at the MAC, filling a gap in local arts programming by providing accessible, high-quality live performances during daytime hours in a welcoming space, encouraging a broad audience—including students, professionals, retirees, and families—to experience live music. The concerts are currently once/month on Wednesdays, and we are hoping to increase to twice/month later this year.
To sustain this program for the next year, we need to pay musicians competitive wages.
Your support will help sustain this program and will directly support local artists.
We have a vision of providing a hub for creatives - for those who dabble in all types of mediums to artists needing a space to spread out and work.
We are starting with some basics, but are currently seeking funding to open a pottery studio, screen printing studio, glass studio and more. Along with equipment and supplies, we need to update our facilities to support all the venting and electrical needs.
We need your help to make this happen!
Hey there! The MAC has been through a bit of a rough patch lately with all the necessary repair work on our gorgeous historic building. But fear not! Your generosity can make all the difference. Every little bit counts toward keeping our programming going strong and getting us closer to our dream of fully reopening! So, let's spread some sunshine and make magic happen together! Your support means the world to us!
We also accept donations of art supplies! Email info@monartscenter.com to arrange for drop-off!
